Home

Welcome to our home in France. Situated in the commune of Mortain-Bocage in the Manche department of Normandy, a friendly welcome from Cathy and Louis awaits you for bed-and-breakfast during the summer months in our 5-bedroomed detached house overlooking beautiful countryside.

A stay with a difference

Your stay with us in our home can be customised to include lessons in either French or English, and guided tours of the surrounding areas, including the D Day beaches, St Malo, Mont St Michel and our pièce de resistance, Hill 314, the site of the Battle of Mortain on 6th August 1944. This battle was the only German counter offensive after D Day, and our home was built on what was the German frontline.

Self-catering is available in spring and autumn, when visitors can explore the area themselves, informed by our small library of historical fiction and non-fiction.

The Property

The property is our second home and is conveniently located near to sites of historical interest, on the edge of the lovely town of Mortain.

The detached house comprises five bedrooms, one of which doubles as a teaching room for lessons in French or English.  There is a large lounge diner, and a fully equipped kitchen, all with doors onto the front lawns.
